Fog is so mystical and beautiful. Something is mysterious about fog. Maybe because it is not in a solid state and it floats in the air. Whatever opinions that we may have about fog, we all can agree that fog is mystical in its own right. Today, I am going to discuss the spiritual meaning of fog in my own words. You don’t have to agree with what I say about the spiritual meaning of what fog represents, I am just going to share with you readers my viewpoint about what fog represents.
Fog is tied to the element water. It is formed when water vapor condenses into tiny water droplets that hang in the air. That’s basically how clouds are formed. So when warm, humid air mixes with cold, drier air, the warm air increases its humidity level to 100% which acts as a stable platform to suspend the cold air for a certain amount of time. Hot air rises while cold air condenses. Hot air is created by the sun when it heats up the ground causing and creating thermals to form. Cold, dry air condenses when being propelled upwards by the warm, rising air from below and thus condensing and causing clouds to form in our heavens above.
So fog requires two polar forms of air: cold, dry air and warm, humid air to mix together to create fog. This process alone is tied to the Law of Polarity, which is apart of the seven universal laws. I won’t get too deep into this universal law but Law of Polarity just acknowledges that everything has a polar opposite and that creates balance within the universe. So viewing fog from this perspective, gives you more insight.
Fog can be really thick and hard to see through and this can be tied to illusions, chaos, confusions and mental delusions. Illusions are tied to planet Neptune who is known as the God of the Seas. The astrology sign tied to Neptune is Pisces and this specific astrology sign has a tendency to easily create their own illusions out of thin air just like that. I actually have Pisces as my ascendent in my natal chart so I am speaking from my personal experience. Because Neptune is so dreamy, it is very easy for a person who is Pisces to have trouble differentiating between what is real from what is not real, recognizing the difference between what is right from wrong. Pisces reside in the between times and the in the in between places and this can be interpreted as residing on the border between reality and the dream world. Pisces are in perfect balance with the universe and they naturally use both their conscious mind and subconscious mind in their day to day life.
When a Pisces person does not want to deal with the ordinary day to day life, they shove the things that they don’t want to deal with into their unconscious minds and that’s exactly what fog represents. Fog represents the unconscious mind. As human beings we all shove things that we don’t want to deal with into out unconscious minds. These things that we don’t want to deal with can be our unwanted fears, shame, undigested emotions, unresolved feelings, and other things that we don’t want to face anymore.
Whenever you ignore the things that you don’t want to deal with, it doesn’t go away but it just hovers around in the background just like how fog hovers over an open field or a warm lake. The only way you can get rid of the things that you don’t want is when you face it head on and handle your business. That’s exactly how fog disappears. Fog disappears when the sun rises above and burns the fog away. The sun represents the conscious mind as it rises above the fog and it becomes aware of the things that it doesn’t want in its reality by facing it head on and burns the fog away.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading from my viewpoint about what fog represents from a deeper meaning. All of the images in this blog post were photographed by me. I was fortunate enough to photograph fog for the first time and it was an amazing experience to be in fog feeling its energy and photographing it at the same time.
